What are Dermal Fillers?
Youthful skin is smooth and resilient because it contains a lot of “Hyaluronic Acid”. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin gradually diminishes. As a result, the skin becomes more dry, thin, and wrinkled.
Fillers used by First Impressions Clinic are a long-lasting but non-permanent synthetic form of hyaluronic acid. The gel mimics the naturally occurring substance by adding volume to the skin. When fillers are injected under the surface of the skin, the gel adds volume and hydration. This results in smoothing fine lines and evening out skin depressions for a more youthful appearance.
Will I see results quickly?
Results following dermal fillers are immediate however, some swelling is to be expected. Your results will be more visible when the swelling subsides, usually in about 2-5 days following treatment.
How long do results last?
Depending on the area being treated, and the type of filler used, results will last anywhere from 8 to 24 months. Your practitioner will give you a more specific time range following an in-depth facial assessment.
How long does the treatment take and will it hurt?
Your treatment will take approximately 30 minutes. If you are concerned with discomfort, you can discuss pain management options with your practitioner, however, most patients find the treatment quite comfortable. Dermal fillers also contain lidocaine, an anesthetic to increase comfort with injection. Additionally, we have an abundance of pain-relieving techniques and tools to aid in the enjoyment of your visit.
Will my face look overdone or unnatural?
The dermal fillers used at First Impressions Clinic will blend with the tissue under the skin to ensure you keep looking like you.

What are the side effects of treatment with Dermal Fillers?
The fillers that are used by First Impressions are created from non-animal products and have been proven safe and effective. Reactions can include redness, swelling, tingling/numbness, firmness/bumps, and bruising. These reactions can last up to 1 week.
