Our staff is pleases to discuss treatments and expected outcomes with you.
What are Neuromodulators?
Nueromodulators consist of a protein, Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is created from a bacteria – much like penicillin is made. Neuromodulators temporarily reduce the movement of muscles that cause moderate to severe wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, younger look. At First Impression we use two different brands of Neuromodulator, BOTOX® and Nuceiva.
Will I see results quickly?
Whether our practitioner chooses to use BOTOX® or Nuceiva for your treatment, the results can start to show as early as 2 days, but you will see the maximum result by 2 weeks.
How long do results last?
Although time can vary from patient to patient, the effect of neuromodulators generally lasts between 3-4 months. Those that consistently receive treatments with neuromodulator may find their results last even longer.
How long does the treatment take and will it hurt?
The actual injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Our qualified practitioners will initially take the time to discuss your treatment goals, learn all your medical history and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment for you. The injection itself feels like a little pinch! If you are concerned with discomfort you can discuss pain management options with your practitioner, however most patients find the treatment quite comfortable.
Will my face look overdone or unnatural?
That should never happen with good injections. The goal is to produce a look that is well-rested and relaxed. The trick is to find a practitioner with whom you can feel comfortable with – one who listens to the objective that YOU wish to achieve
What are the side effects to treatment with Neuromodulator?
Side effects are generally mild. Some patients experience mild bruising, headache and transient numbness. Most patients can walk out of the office and return to work within 20 minutes.
